Progress! (or how paint elves visited our house)

We drove by a few weeks ago just to check out the progress on the house. I’ve never see tile bathroom floors before they’re tiled, and I had no idea there was a waterproof tar-like paint added to the floor first. I’m kinda relieved that exists, though.

Anyway, a few days later, the baseboard was installed. The problem with the baseboard is that it’s exactly the same color as the rest of the walls (which turned out to be a lot lighter than we thought it would be). So, we wanted to paint them white before the carpeting was put in, because otherwise it would be a huge pain.

I asked the agent at Flagship what would happen if some magical elves broke into our future house to apply two tone paint to the upstairs before carpet was put in. Apparently that’s a thing that the builder turns a blind eye to. They can’t see magical painting elves.

It’s a good thing we did it, too, because literally the next day, the carpet fairies came.
