Selling the Orem House

We’re close enough now that we need to list our house in Orem, which is terrifying because technically everything can go really, really wrong. If we don’t get an offer quickly enough, we could lose our new house. This one is older and needs more repairs. That’s part of the reason we’re selling it, actually – because I’d rather own one big house that doesn’t need work, than two smaller houses that do.

It’s summer, though, so we’re expecting it to go pretty well.

Anyway, I took the above picture of the house after spending several hours updating it and cleaning up the yard for someone else to enjoy.

The yard was actually absolutely dead when we originally bought the house. We tilled up the whole thing ourselves (using a tiller we rented from Home Depot), smoothed it out ourselves, paid someone a bunch of money to install sprinklers, and then had someone else come and spray it with grass seed. It took several weeks, but we eventually had a reasonably nice yard.

I planted the rose bush on the corner there right before listing the house… but the peach tree has been there ever since we had to pull up an old tree stump a while back. I will miss the peach tree, honestly.

We also replaced the carpet in our living room – again, so that someone else could enjoy it. What bullshit.
